We have begun to catch winter steelhead on the Smith and Chetco rivers. Fishing this season so far has been better than the last several years. There are a lot of hatchery fishing in both the Chetco and Smith rivers at this time and fishing will just keep getting better as we get into the peak season in January through March.
Heavy rains at this time have the rivers have the rivers high. Each time the rivers drop after the rains, fishing has been outstanding. There have been hatchery steelhead over 20 pounds already caught this season. The steelhead this year are bigger than average.
I do have dates available throughout the season. This appears to be one of the best starts to steelhead season that I can remember in 19 years of guiding here full time. When we get a break in the weather, the fishing will be world-class.
Call (541) 698-7029 or (707) 218-5550 to get in on the action.

Spring Salmon runs
The spring salmon runs have been very good this year with an early start again on the Rogue River.
The rains have been coming in strong all spring with rain every couple of days. This has the Rogue up and down with some good days for fishing.
The Klamath River is still very high for this time of year but the signs are favorable with good fish numbers per boat on some days.
The past two weeks have been the start to the Klamath River fishing and it will only get better.
I do have openings for the month of June so give me a call!
Thank you
David

Springers on the Rogue River Gold Beach OR
We have two fish in the box this morning while guiding the lower Rogue. Kyle and Corey Kingston from Mount Shasta and the two have landed one 18# hatchery Springer and one 8-10# hatchery steelhead so far. Sounds like a heck of a beginning to a great day of fishing!
As you can see the first springers of the season are showing up. Call early for the best dates.

We just received about 3.5 inches of rain. With the rise in the river new fresh fish are moving in.
